Find out more of what we are up to on 17th October ;)
This past couple of months have completely disappeared.
I can’t believe September is now upon us and our little people are back to school and routine has resumed. I don’t know about you but I feel that when we enter September is sometimes feels like the beginning of a new year with all the plan making for the up and coming months ahead.
One thing on the cards for next month at Elizabeth Rose NI is the participation in Sew Saturday. If any of you get the Sew magazine you will have seen it advertised in recent issues. It aims to celebrate and boost the profile of bricks and mortar fabric shops. I also found it exciting and a real encouragement to see Stuart Hillard from the Great British Sewing Bee behind the campaign.
We are really excited about taking part, as a result my brain has been in over drive conjuring up idea on what we could do to inspire and get you excited about sewing too.
Sew here is what we have happening:
* Firstly the date is Saturday 17th October from 10am to 5pm. Brian is very kindly allowing me to take over his barn for the day so we have loooots of space to get carried away in 🙂
* For every purchase on Sew Saturday there is a FREE fabric covered notebook, shoe broach and complimentary cuppa from Woodview Restaurant (while stock lasts) This offer only applies to purchases of fabric, yarn and haberdashery.
*We will have a “Pop Up Sewing Circle” Sit down and rest your legs whilst making an Ally Owl Pincushion – Sew Saturdays Mascot. Sew magazine have provided a pattern for this for you to have a go at. Please note this isn’t a taught workshop.
* Sew Saturday Offer– spend over £35 and get £5 off (Please note this offer applies to fabric, yarn and haberdashery)
* Now who is up for a competition – Are you in the mood for a bit of sewing or another project but don’t know what to make?? How about making a patchwork cushion. This can include appliqué, whatever you what, be as creative as you wish. The winner will receive a NEW SEWING BOX. Please have your entries in my Wednesday 15th October
* YOU BE THE JUDGE – Would you like to be a judge for the day? – come along and help us judge the winning patchwork cushion competition
*We will have a NEW range of cotton fabric coming in especially for Sew Sat. Be the first to view these at only £5 per metre
*I am really excited to be launching a new range to Elizabeth Rose NI. including buttons, fabric, lace, kits and patterns. I don’t want to give to much away.
* Be inspired for your next project or another to add to your wish list by a display of brilliant handiwork of quilts and projects completed by my great friends and our sewing group.
* Be the first to put your name down to list of dates of upcoming workshops
One thing I am really looking forward to is meeting you and chatting to you, that really is one of the best things about my job. Meeting you face to face and hearing all about your next project, also you allowing me to be a part of it in helping deciding colours and matching up. #sewexcited
Keep a wee eye out on Facebook as we drip feed you information as we get nearer the event. Also watch out for our Sew Saturday road signs popping up soon and if you are in-store pick up some of our leaflets as a reminder of all our goings on.
Many Thanks for everything!!
Charlene :)x
